Zombie MOAB: A Failure and a Success

The War Z

I, unfortunately, have to wrap up our first feature (August is Zombie MOAB month) with both a failure and a success.

The Failure:

MOAB Challenge class set upSo. Long story short, I didn’t get my MOAB. Which is disappointing. I probably didn’t play as much as I should have or be as dedicated to it as I could have been. Don’t get me wrong, I had good games. I think in one of my best I got my specialist bonus 3 times and finished the game with the most kills I’ve ever had. It’s an achievement, but not the one I wanted.

I prestiged once during this month and am about to do so again. It sucked when I first prestiged and my guns were bad, but I got over that quick. My MSR, MP7 and ACR are all almost gold. I’m really working on getting my MSR to gold because I’ve never done it before, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to do it without waiting to get to the next prestige.

I did change my classes a little bit and added the PP90 to the mix. I actually got that gun completely gold first if that shows how much of a fan I was of it. I ran around with 2 attachments – rapid fire and a silencer – and just wrecked shit. It was pretty nice.

I also threw in a random class with the overkill perk. I had a striker with an MSR as my secondary. It was a weird class, I’m not going to lie, but I turned out to really like it. It was just fun to be able to choose between short range or long distance kills. The shot gun was hard to get used to at first, but once I did, it’s too powerful and required more skill than I originally thought and I murked kids like that’s what I was born for.

I’m hoping to try my MOAB challenge again in a few months. Maybe when all the try hards go play Black Ops, I’ll have the opportunity to get one then. Unfortunately, we have too many things going on in the next few months for me to have the time to try it.

The Success:
I played a lot of zombie games. From Black Ops zombies to Plants vs. Zombies to Zombie shooter games on my phone. In actuality, I spent so much time playing zombie games that I didn’t spend enough time writing about it. That was my fault. Then, when I wasn’t playing zombie games, I was going try hard for a MOAB. Also my fault.

My biggest achievement for the month was finding the beta for The War Z. I’m still scouring the forums waiting for the announcement, but I hope that I get in. I think it sounds like a super exciting game. They have released a little more information on the game and have confirmed that people who pre-order will get into the beta. This is something that I hope will stay true because that’s my way in and I’m still looking for a reason to use my gaming computer. I’ve got my eye on SCII, but that makes me look real Asian, so I haven’t made up my mind yet.

At least the zombie portion of this month was a success. It would have been a blow to my ego to know that I couldn’t complete at least one of my goals. Hopefully when I try for my MOAB again, I’ll succeed, but I think there’s some things with my game play that I have to work out before I can get to that point.

What were your favorite parts of Zombie MOAB month?
